Very good. This is an exciting prospect for the company, and aging more bikes to the field us always a good thing (so long as they are at least competitive!)

I'll believe it, when I believe it ... And I sincerely doubt they will find 100 annual customers for an unproven engine and chassis, to the tune of 200K euros a copy (track only - LOL, GLWT Pierer).
This is the same company that takes 7 years (or more, depending on where one begins the countdown) to develop replacement models of it's existing street-going multi-cylinder models (Adventure, SuperDuke, RC8). MotoGP ... Uh huh.
Something tells me for this to be anything beyond a pipe dream, they are going to have to get some serious outside engine development help, perhaps from known consultancies like Porsche ...
KTM races in Moto2?- "... the RC16 will use WP Suspension which is currently adopted on its Moto2 racers ..." - huh?
Assuming a typo of Moto3 ... WP suspension use in MotoGP will be akin to Erik Buell's obstinance in using that stupid-ass "ZTL" front brake setup in SBK: A sure loser. They could pretend all they want - the decals might even say "WP", but there will be Ohlins at the very least inside, if not the entire suspension components.

I hate to drop a turd in Mr. Pierer's punch bowl (ahh, no I don't), but WTF makes him think he's going to roll out a competitive V4 motor when the likes of Aprilia, which has a far more MotoGP experience, have failed miserably? I can't wait to see the wobbly wheeled abomination that KTM comes up with. I hope they realise a GP bike can't weep oil all over the tracks.
Oh, and Stefan, Kenny Roberts sends you a big eff you.

Why are you guys so down on the idea? He's hardly likely to say "yeah we're building a V4 MotoGP bike but it's not going to be in anyway competitive at any point" They built a V4 before so fair play for giving it another go. It's their money after all. The more factories supplying bikes for the grid the better. Part of the problem Aprilia have is they are trying to turn a World Superbike engine into a MotoGP one. Not an easy task I'd imagine when you are tooled up to produce one engine but need to make major changes to it to give you that extra 40-60bhp. Starting out to produce a pure racing engine is probably easier in some ways. Personally I think it'll be interesting to see what they come up with. I'd not expect them to be remotely near the front for at least 4 seasons. Who knows what the control ECU is going to do from 2016. Should level the playing field slightly.
