The rules are different to Hottrax Junior Endurance for which he would have been eligeable.
What we need is someone quick and crash happy, a real death or glory merchant with no previous race experience. Someone not too bright but willing to go out there and nail it, lap after lap, in the hope of impressing one of the raddled old marshalls enough to get a dry, dusty shag behind the burger van.

I reckon that is what you will need to win at Anglesea. For Lydden a good 600 would be as quick as a litre bike. Maybe a 99 R6 if you can find a good one. I am just sending a rear wheel to some paddy racers I know that are competing on a CBR600fx.
I think my prospective team mates are looking at doing Hottrax Endurance instead on a Superstock 08 R1. I wont be in it though as dont have a current ACU licence and am scared I may die.
All I have that would be eligable for NBC is my FZR400. It wouldnt win but may be a good excuse for being slow. If they do it again next year I would be tempted to get an Aprilia RS250 to enter. I quite fancy a track two stroke and think that could get around Lydden as quick as anything.

Our run out was pretty successful on our SRAD, at least no-one crashed it, though the guy in the 1098 who binned it nearly took us out! That wouldn't do, what with a full season still to go.
See you in the race paddock

It goes on a bit about how popular it is in belgium and how many people signed up for it the first season because of how cheap it is but at the end of the day, I understand that they would indeed be nuts to run it without enought teams signed up and paid for but if you're going to hold 4 out of 5 of your events in wales and then one other at the completely other side of the country then people aren't going to want to commit to it.
They then go on to offer the chance for UK teams who have signed up to compete in various rounds across europe if they wish or to get a full refund.
They are also offering them free places on the track day on the morning of the Angelsey event although it seems all teams who choose to just do the Anglesey round will still have to pay the £75 no budget cup season membership fee so it's only any good if you actually wanted the track time in the first place as you'll then recoup some of that £75, personally I figured I'd get enough riding during the event, without doing another 5 sessions beforehand.
We obviously would also have had to pay the £75 fee but that was our choice to just do Lydden.
I suppose if they get an influx of last minute support things might change but seems very unlikely.
I hope they come back next year with more tracks and can make a success of it but unless they get the tracks sorted I don't think things will be much different, otherwise they may as well call it the welsh budget cup.

I got the impression that they're still going to try again for next year though so hopefully it'll come back bigger and better.
