K2 should work fine on most occasions. If you're really fast you might need to make a more temperature specific choice of compound to reduce wear.

This is what I've done for four years now. Nothing to compare it to but seems to work OK for me.

K1 on front. K2 on rear.

Front always outlasts the back. By about 2:1 - but yhat is riding on the road in between track days.

NB. They are shit in the wet, the cold, on muddy roads , in the winter etc. .

But in the summer, the dry track, the nice A road blast they are AWESSOME!

K3 ..... It a road going compound in the exact shape of the k2 or k1 with 95 percent of the grip of the track only variants.... It doesn't degrade with heat cycles like the k1/k2 and will happily cover 99% of the rigours of track day riding....... If you need a k1 or k2 for your track days then allow me to fill out your BSS application and we'll all come along and cheer you on at the race weekend!

I would always go for more grip than I need or could use, than not enough when I need it.

I normally buy K1 front, K2 rear scrubs. However I bought K3 front and rear for endurance race. In all honesty I couldn't feel any difference. Bike wasn't 100% so wasn't pushing as hard as perhaps I could but still they were good as gold.

My girlfriend just surprised me with an almost new (3 sessions old) set of K2 interacts, I use them for fast street rides and some track days. Limited grip will only be caused by stock suspension but mostly my own riding
