My recent trackday at NJMSP in New Jersey. I'm having the time of my life with this bike on the track!

Awesome! Looks like you had a friend too.

Are you using stock rear sets? Your body position confirms what I feel on mine. The pegs need to be pushed back and up an inch or so to allow a more aggressive bp.

Nothing like getting stuck behind a slug train on the best part of the track, huh?

Thanks for taking us around the track!
I think I like that track.

Thanks guys, Riding on the track really makes me not want to ride on the street... to say I'm addicted is an understatement, that bike is so much FUN!

I feel perched high off the bike and I'm having trouble really getting off the bike like the rest of the guys on sportbikes. The bike is definitely higher, and I suppose replacing the stock rear-sets that I'm using now would be a step in the right direction, but I'm not sure it's just that. I think getting my knee down will be much more difficult than if I was on a superbike, but I'm gonna do it one way or another! Any other tips from guys that have taken theirs to the track?

I haven't messed with the suspension from the stock setting yet as I'm getting used to the bike on the track before I start making changes. I'm prolly 200lbs in leathers and gear, so it works out well so far.

Over the winter I'm thinking about changing to the race suspension settings, maybe the motohooligan airbox and now maybe the new rearsets should be put on that list too. I'm also thinking the 211GP tyres would work well on there, anyone running anything better? Might do slicks too, but not sure what to use.

Also, the head shakes a bit about 1/3 of the way down the straight, all I can think of is that it has no windshield, so I'm basically a sail on top of the thing and I think when I shift I might be moving my body too much and causing the shake. It's no big deal really, I just power through it... I also had the taller KTM windscreen on for a bit and it was MUCH worse, so I put the stock little one back on.

That was the second time I rode that track, and I gotta say, I'm in love with it. The last time I was on a Ducati 900SS and crashed it in turn 7 (one of the two left turns on the track), so this time felt much better. I rented the Duc and rode with Penguin school when Ferracci sponsored the event last year. Double the HP and 50lbs less weight compared to the Ducati made the track feel completely different.

The camera was mounted to the handlebar, not to me, just for the record.

Theres a suspension guru Mark Bilt at that track. Look for him across from the tech garage - he's usually pitted there. I didnt use him but regretted it afterwards. It was my first trackday and couldnt find time to get it done as there was always classroom work after the sessions. Heres some info from Abolute who ran the school I was on

"he's usually at the trackdays though. give him a call at 201-406-1921 just to confirm."
