I need a new Racetec rear, K2.
I have a trackday at Brands in a few weeks and could wait till then and get the tyre guys to fit a new one first thing. Or I could order a new one on line and then have to find somewhere to fit it in the next few weeks which I really don't have time to do).
Does anyone know how much more I'll have to pay to get one at the track? Is it really dear or worth the extra for the time I'm going to save? Also, am I guaranteed to be able to get that tyre on the day - is it common enough?

The easiest thing to do is ring the TDO, book and order the tyre through the tyre guy and let him know you're coming. They'll know in advance which tyre guy they're using for a given location.
Personally i'd do it in advance, there's enough messing about early on at trackdays getting out of the van, briefed etc without worrying about getting a rear fitted at the same time.

who is the tdo ?
if you have enough life in your current tyre i suggest you book it in with the tyre guy after your first session , that way you wont be panicking and trying to make briefing and signing on and noise testing and talking shit with other rossi wannabes

Hi Bic,
My mate Keith bought 2 sets of K2's from Toni at Parkitt Racing, works with No Limits and they were cheaper than the internet Ring him before the event to make sure he has them on the day. Thats if he is at your trackday!!

Cheers. I amgoing to try find out who the tyre opperator is on the day and do it his way. Much the easiest option for me.

Was replacing with the K3 the tyre operators suggestion or just something you wanted to experience?

No, I've had a K3 on all last year and so I was just replacing like for like. It's a great tyre IMO for a compromise between track and a lot of road miles.
