Folks

What's the opinion with the OE tyre pressures on track?

Road pressures are 36psi Front and 42psi Rear - I planned to drop to 30psi front and 32psi rear..

Thanks.

That's what I run on my 990 the last time I was at the track, a few weeks ago. Recommended by the technicians from the Ducati dealership sponsoring the track day.

On advice from more experienced track riders than me. I used 26/27R - 28F cold starting point, which equates to 28R - 31F Hot on both Sportsmarts and Rosso Corsas.
Both worked superbly up to their grip limits at those pressures.

Thanks folks for your thoughts.

I was running on my Daytona 675 Supercorsas @ 29Fr/31R so figured the 1290 is a bit heavier. Will go with 29Fr/30R think..

if u want to find the perfect pressure for road or track use the 10 -- 20 rule using street tyres that means your front tyre should not increase more than 10 percent and the back should not increase by 20 percent
ma1290rky to give u an idea im running 28 f -30 r you will be feeling every bump in the road and your contact patch will alot thinner than what it should be

I'm just on the standard KTM tyre pressures on the road - why would they be so different I wonder?

Do you suffer a lot of punctures on the road at these pressure?
