Racetecs at freezing temperature

Going on track next week end and it could be cold (and wet). Like very cold, close to freezing. Actually taking my road racing license so even using tyre warmers there could be some waiting so cold by the time I start.

So will Ractecs be horrible or will they be fairly OK? Did a trackday last year in 10deg and surprised how hot they got, normal temp on right side slightly colder on left side (clock wise track).

But it gets worse. At the rear I've got BT021, racetec front/BT021 rear combo just doesn't sound very good

We did Snett a few weekends ago at about 3 - 5 degrees with no tyre warmers. I elected for BT016's as did Schnauzer on the thinking that a road tyre will be used to working from cold and cope with more heat cycles. They felt like shit every lap of every session and never got a decent grip right up until they spat me off.

Jamie (TJ) was riding on K2 Racetecs and had no real problems. There were a few marks on the tyre that suggested he had been spinning them up but nothing that gave him cause to worry on track.

If I had the day again I would be on Racetecs too.
