did my first track session on the rc8 yesterday, two lots of 30 miunte sessiones was all i could manage with the heat and humidity, rolled up late as i had problems paying fror fuel earlier on then the cash machine would not accept my card so back home to get some money from under the mattres, the wife was awake by now (8am) and wondered what some mad leather clad guy was doing fumbling around and mumbling, well got the money and jumped on he rc8 and off to the track, got to say that this time i rod ethe bike there as i am only 20 miutes away. got there late and my mate had already signed on and got his first two sessiones paid for, 1st and 3rd, 1st was at 0900 an now it was 0845, oh well make some excuse to the guys in front of me and they let me to the front straigt away then pay for the two sessiones, dam i had not prepared the pressures, luckily i still had the same track settings from the last time (that eventualy i never to gt to do) for the suspension so it was just a case of pressuere down, a quick pee and once over on the bike and then off down the pit box. no sound testing here, just as well for my akra then. 20 guys in the first session so quite a lt as normally its 10, not been on this tack for 7 months so easy goes for the first 5 laps, my frien shoots off on his gsrx1000 and i think oh well it will give me someone to chase, spent a while trying to figure out the race mode on the display, thick really as i had i spent half n hour with it a few weeks ago, finally think i have sorted around lap 10, by nod in 1:58s so noy setting the world on fire but its the first session, catch my mate and stay behind him to see how the rc8 compares, not bad realy, get the legs on him every time we are mid corner and then the exit, nice it feels, he manages to come along side half way down the straight but i get him on the brakes coming in the first corner and im off, third using all the revs up thesecond corner were rossi fell, still in third round there and crack it down to the first right hand corner, steady here as tehre are only 3 rights on the whole track, up to the second right hard over but then gently opening up and next the left hander that leads up to a technical part of the track, this bike brakes nice is very stable good feedback and the engine is a cracker but i still miss my sd. in this session i was quickest but only down to 1:56 so still nothing special but the best to come was the second session and my battle with three ducati 1098s one was the r version, now the times tumbled and i was impressed with the rc8 and found how good she is.
