I did a trackday at Thunderhill in Willows,CA..the first on a Superduke R. I have done trackdays here before on and a 2000 Buell X-1, and a 2004 MV Agusta Brutale...both also naked bikes. The Duke was by far the fastest of the three. Turn in was much quicker, as well as acceleration. I was able to reach 130 mph by the end of the front straight..but was outgunned by the Japanese litre bikes. My buddy on his 05 CBR 1000RR regularly pulled away from me on the straight and I would catch and pass him by braking later. I ran 6 sessions and the had the damper turned up to max by the 4th one. I also had the suspension set up and adjusted every session by Dave Moss. He does a great job reading your tyres and adjusting the suspension to suit your riding style..he also give you some basic riding advice based on what he sees. There is quite a bit of front end instability the faster you go and start rolling on the gas earlier while exiting the corners. I was running in the 2:10 range, for anyone that knows that track. Some things I plan to do to improve my times are to get a stiffer damper, move the bars a bit forward, and somehow put some grip on the seat. I kept sliding back under acceleration..even with squeezing the tank with my knees. I even bought some stomp grips at the track for the tank. All in all, I had one of the funnest track days one could have.

Monster,

Great write up, the next step is to get to Sears Point where the bigger bikes can't get away... Let me know when you sign up for the next track day I will bring my SD-R so you wont be the only KTM on the track..
