Sears Point trackday

Rode Sears Point for the first time in 8 years with Reg Pridmore's CLASS school yesterday. The weather was perfect bay area October sun, mid 80's, nice high overcast late in the afternoon cooled things down at the end of the day.

First time on track with the Superduke was fantastic. There are a number of changes to the course I had to get used to but the bus stop on the back side wasn't nearly as horrible as I imagined. Not as much fun as the old layout with big sweepers leading into 11 but a good braking exercise. The bike was perfect all day and the Michelin Power Pures exceeded my expectations. I have no idea what my times might have been but at my pace (pointy end of the B group) they held on tight while dragging knees and toes. The CLASS format keeps you busy all day on track and in the classroom so that's my excuse for not fooling with the standard street suspension settings. Honestly, I wasn't going fast enough to find fault with the handling. Next time I'll show up with the track settings and see how that goes. I've tried them before on the street and found I liked the softer ride of the street settings for non-track use.

There was a minor off early in the day when one or two bikes went down with no injuries. Otherwise the whole day was incident free. I met some great folks in the pits and regained a lot of confidence I'd lost from doing so many commute miles on the bike. What really struck me is that I didn't feel as tired late in the day as I remember from being on sport bikes. The last session of the day was one of my best.

This bike is not for sale.

Nice pic.

I see you have one of the super cool fast white SD's too . Much cooler than those rubbish crash happy black bikes.
