I used the book track settings and then adjusted from there. I'm a few clicks here and there away from the book.

Bigash is right on. If there is a suspension guy at the day have him help set it up. Take notes. Make one change at a time.
If you can't get expert help.
First- Set the sag. Get two friends. Work together to get all your bikes sag set. 32mm-40mm front/ 28mm to 35mm rear.
That was the easy part.
Damping settings are measured in turns or clicks(1/4turn) out, counterclockwise, from slow. All the way in.
The factory recommendations are a good place to start.(They will be too slow on a cold morning and may fade on a hot day requiring a click or 2 in).
SET up check- With the machine on its' wheels, not on the race stands, put one foot on the peg; Your hand not holding the bar on top of the tank and compress the forks and shock forcefully and evenly. They should compress and rebound with roughly the same force and rebound at the same rate.
SDs are tall . It's important to get 'em balanced front to back.
