Back when racing was a sport, the Laguna Seca rounds were wild carded between AMA and SBK . The single tyre rules put an end to that. No rubber maker wanted to get beat by there competitor on the same track on the same day. They effectively removed the special occasion that was the Laguna round. Then poor SBK got booted when Moto GP came to town. and after three long travels through the Nevada desert to see them, they finnally make it back to my backyard.
Jordon Motorsports announced that they would contest the World Superbike races this weekend with Roger Hayden and Danny Eslick as their riders. They must not be sponsored by Dunlop or being a second tier teem the fear of an equall comparison was awash.
I would love to see some of the SBK boyz wildcard into the AMA round.
One year Neal Hodgson took out Eric Bostrom at the top of the corkscrew effectively causing him to loose the championship to Mat Mladin. It begs to question wether or not racing is now more about sponsorship doe or boyz proving who should stand on top of the hill.
I have taken my boy to the races at Laguna since he was eight years old. He can now legally drink in a bar at Canary Row. Guess where we will be on Saturday night.
Infield Sucks
I am rooting for Marco, he may have an advantage due to plenty of crashes at this track. This track may suit the Honda so I look for Rea to be at the front.
If you get a chance to see Eslick back it into turn two, though not the fastest way through a turn, it is a sight to behold.
