I have been looking to add a single to the garage for a while to go with my 2007 SD. Something not only to rip around town, but also to do fire roads and trails in the Sonora desert. Drove with a friend in his Sprinter van 600 miles each way to Bakersfield CA to pick up this 2005, yes the price was worth the long ass drive. Motorbike has 5k on it and as you can see it came with a full dirt setup from Warp 9, set of discs, front caliper, and Dunlop 606 tyres (90% offroad/10% on). Dirt setup has 150 miles on it, former owner had an little stumble and his wife suggested he sell it.

Thanks Stalker,
I did the valves this week and put on the 50/50 tyres. No surprises taking it apart, but still need to dial in the carb a bit. It is a hoot to ride something 100 pounds lighter than the SD, but the vibration is a BITCH. Actually may be too much for my crap body, but we'll see.

SS, Welcome to the Sounds of Singles. They are a hoot! See if the KTM Adventure 950/990 foot peg rubber inserts will fit your bike. You only need the metal to the boot sole for wet, get down and dirty days. E-Z to put on and off. Not sure what seat foam you are running but you might make some huge gains there. Extra width on the seat can help spread the load. I read that racer guys like the stiff foam so they don't sink down when getting on the gas. I bet you will not be racing, so go cush!. Grips are another place to dampen the vibes. I like ORUY big waffle pads for grips. They are bigger around and longer. Bar end weights help dampen things. Might as well stuff some heating pads under the grips while you are there. Your 50/50 tyres will help. Nix the rim locks. And don't forget...it's a fookin dirt bike, not a touring bike Enjoy

Hey SS, Just back from my Friday 64 mile after work wind down ride (ran out of daylight). I was thinking about you new dirty bike. Most of the vibration you will wanting to reduce will come thru the seat. If my guess is correct you will be sitting down a lot. There are less vibes while standing but.... Any way, my idea

Check motor mounts for tightness, engine tune, chain adjustment, etc.

On my 640 I also siliconed the bar, ran pro grip 714 http://m.motorcycle-superstore.com/14/7 ... Grips.aspx and the tall seat that made things better vibes wise. There is a smooth spot in the rev range, gear the bike to be happy where you do most of your riding.

Still shook out the main jet once, broke the head pipe, toolkit left, etc. but those things all happened during extended high speed runs.
