I picked one up today, 2013 3.7 hours, 78 miles. A cool 70 year old gentleman bought it in Jan rode it home from the dealer went out riding with a friends on a washboard dirt road and hit sand. Tiny 6 mm ripple in one of the plastics, but that is it! He unfortunately went flying and landed on his back, even with armor he broke 3 ribs. He rode it home and it sat till today when I came 400 miles to pick it up. Family basically made him sell it.
I got a pretty good deal. I can't really report on how it rides as I did not do anything more than start it yet. All I know is that it seems to vibrate 7000% less than the SMC..

Hey soarsore, if you get some sumo wheels, come and play at Musselman Honda Circuit (.a.k.a. P1 Kart Circuit) down by the fair grounds. Awesome asphalt.

I did a 45 minute endurance race out there that started in the rain and ended in a lightning blasting down pour. We were all running slicks, so I got a chance to keep pushing to see what the tyres could do. We were really flying for those conditions, amazing what slicks can do. In this rain shot, the race was 8 laps and the rain had started around lap 5. Everyone slowed to a crawl, I just ran my rain speed and cleaned house. That track is a Lot of fun!

I dealt with the ridiculous temps yesterday here in Southern AZ for my first dirtbike ride in the dirt. Felt weird at first, but slowly started building up experience. For a street guy, even these near perfect fire roads and crop irrigation paths were glorious fun! Being able to stand on the foot pegs on a completely washboard road and not even feeling it was amazing. I am starting to see what all the fuss is about.

I have never seen a handicap tag on a dirtbike. I had to stare at that for a few seconds to figure out what I was seeing...

Welcome to the dirt SS. So much of it out there. Keep hydrated and use good armor. Hum ,,might have some more suggestions, have to go back to your photos and look for bark busters, steering dampner. ect..tyres are a big deal in the dirt. Keep a good front tyre on your bike. The back will follow, expecally in the desert. Now back to those cherry photos, Nice going SS.

OK. No real hand guards, and I don't see a steering dampner either.

First thing are some serious hand guards. What you have are ok for wind, and will help a little in a crash, but there are better out there that will help save broken fingers and levers. Look for the type that connect into the handle bar ends. I use Bark Busters which are made from aluminium rectangle bar stock. No wind protection like your guards but they can take a big hit. Nothing worse than hitting a tree with your right unprotected lever that smashes the lever into your fingers that locks the front brake that makes you crash. Been there done that, Now I just bounce off the trees.
