Any thoughts on Lagunas in Maidstone?

Despite having bought new/PXd several bikes thru Laguna's, I just wondered if anyone has recent concerns over their work capability. I've heard some bad things of late. While I'm here...are there any localish alternatives although I don't mind travelling if the I find someone with a conscience.

Stupid Luke is local to that Lagunas I believe, and hates them more than the Nazis hated Jews.

There are no local alternatives really, I'm going to take my bikes to Jim Aims Essex or The KTM center Hemel Hempstead next.

I've not been happy with the service at Lagunas, one fault I had took a year to resolve and I had to diagnose it myself and give them the answer.

I'm not going to bother going in to all the details on here but it's enough of a statement to say I'd rather drive the distance to one of the other respected dealers mentioned than the 5 mins it takes me to get to Lagunas, I'm a really patient guy and gave them more slack than most but I just can't be dealing with it anymore.

I thought about P&H in Crawley but I've heard of equal good and bad experiences so decided I'd just do on of the others which a few members use.

The clothing dept however are awesome and always willing to help and sort out any problems.

The sales guy Steve who I bought both my KTMs from was always good too, I know Salesman should keep you sweet anyway but that's not always the case in some dealers.

I've only dealt with the one in ashford (on many occasions)

Mixed bag. Tend to come away feeling aggrieved rather than warm and chirpy....

They never have anything in stock by the way.

Thanks for the ideas. It's good to think there are alternatives & I heard Jim Aims name once before. Was it Twisted Jester I was talking to outside Lagunas last Sunday...about SDs & lightweight wheels?

I've not had them do any work on my bikes, but have bought bikes and gear off them and found them to be helpful and open to discounts on purchases. Then again I'm biased as a mate of mine works there.

Re leather work, you can call MoJo's at Canterbury on 01227 789090. Haven't used him for a while & I heard he went part time but he does good stuff with leathers. If he's still there it's Unit 14c, Barton Business Park, New Dover Road, Canterbury CT1 3AA.

Highly recommend these guys for leather works. They took in my Furygan trousers and did an amazing job! (oh my slim physique! http://www.hideout-leather.co.uk/alterations

Second that about Hideout. They did a great job of replacing zips on my old jackets, repaired the outers on my Daytona boots and turned my one piece Dainese suit into a two piece one. Not the cheapest but their quality is really good. And like Klink says the roads to get there are worth the trip in their own right. Hideout is on a farm building in the absolute middle of nowhere!

Cheers for the info on leather alterations.
Must get my Arlenn ness one piece suite taken in a bit as they are a bit baggy in some places.
If I ever buy new leathers again I would be tempted to get a hand made measured set of scott leathers for that perfect fit!

It was warranty work on my Dainese one piece, they send them off to a company called MLS, they do non warranty repairs as well but only on Dainese stuff.

I think next time I need a set, hopefully not for a few years yet then I'll definitely consider made to measure, getting the right size was a bit of a nightmare, when one area of the body fitted ok another didn't and so the end result is still a compromise, feels good on the bike but getting in and out is more of a mission than usual.
