This is pretty much standard procedure. KTM was doing pretty good with spare parts until they moved into their new warehouse over a year ago...

Did you have to ask me this?.... I waited 7 months+ for a R seat kit and finally gave up, I have handle bars, wish we were closer...

this is why,,, for all of you SD die-hards, ye should have 2 SD's to start with, so you always have a spare,

and then when I come to stay at yer house for a week or 3, we can let joe ride the spare?... this is good eh?...

(want to add) the dealer whom ordered the seat kit kept telling me for 4 feckin months....... 3 more weeks,,,, 3 more weeks ,,,, 3 more weeks, perpetuational dizzyness!

Oh Oh.... the new instrument cluster I just had put in a week or so ago is defective, it has orange light coming brightly out of the right upper corner. kinda like it?...

Im going to ask for 100% assurance off the frame repairers tmrw that it will be ok , as i said to Bro Joe , the S/duke has a tendancy to lift the front up and down a bit , now and again.....lols

So its got to be strong , due to the viloent forces it takes to pull a weld away no matter how small , ive got to insist they x ray the frame 1st for the structual integrity to be proven sound.
cheers.

cont :

Great news last wednesday , but was short lived .
after 3wks of the bike going away , frame repair , x ray , alignment , i finally got the call , your bike is ready...................

A re cap of things ......
April 1st i got bumped off , and my bike got taken to Fowlers in Bristol.

10wks waiting for parts , that i could get in 3 days , but there policy does not allow them to deal with outsiders for spares ...............

So after 11 wks its ready i ring to check its ok ...... hold on they say , the oil temp sender is leaking , dont know when we can get the part for you........

Spoke to the manager , who after a while agreed to help me out and take one of a new bike in the showroom......so great i drove to Bristol .

I looked at the bike , looked lovely
then i put the bars lock to lock, clunk on the left side.....i looked underneath, noticed damage to the lock stop , about 2mm seperation half way round on the lock stop weld , so despite my e mail 10 weeks to that asking them to look at the frame and that part of the bike , no one ever did

So , shop , ins company N.I.G. all missed it ......
what else may they have missed ......

So another 3 - 4 wks goes by , i ring the frame repair people they sent it too ,is my bike fixed .....
" yep your bike was reay 10 days ago mate" ....
WTF , so i ring Fowlers , another week before its ready for you to collect sorry

So today is the big day .........i thought

I better check , so i asked if they had fitted the new tyre i had paid for 4 wks ago , was it on the bike , "errrrrrrm no sorry hasnt been done" ....... we will do it in a few hours for you.
FFS.

I ring back , "yep the tyres on for you but your bike is making a strange noise from possibly the clutch ?? "

"We will ring you back in a hour "

The phone rings its Oliver from Folwers in Bristol........

"We have a problem , your engine is making terrible noises , sounds top end , possibly bottom end , oil starvation , was it ok before the bump"

me , "Yes it was , it had done 1800 miles only and is under warranty so any problem and i would have brought it to you asap as it wouldnt cost anything to get it put right, im so fastidious with bike's , i never let the oil get low , let alone miss frame damage like you guys did , so do me a favour "

So now after months of waiting , all of them missing damage to the frame , 2 trips to collect the bike , it may need a new engine !!!
or at least a full rebuild they said ........

With only 8 months use and 2000 miles , is it too much to ask for a replacement bike , as i have no faith at all in the work that has been done or not done , apparently so , they wont give me a new bike and the ins company said no! they will only pay for a engine rebuild , but how can i ever ride it , knowing these fools have built it !!! after all the other mistakes.

Advice needed i think or some prozac , .....
I have a new private number plate , a mar air box , a KTM single seat kit , all waiting for my baby .......

Im so fed up , i want to go down there and tear them a new arse, both of them .

Digger , bloody awful isn't it really , a shop that big , and a sevice that small....Mmmmm
To be honest im going to be doing a 300 mile round trip from now on , to REDLINE RACING in leicester , yep its a long way , but parts next day , or a just 7 days for a KTM single seat kit , still amazed , my mate has his bike serviced there , they give you 100% .

Ive just rung Fowlers , and asked them for a extended warranty , as without the plunger , my dyno house and real expert mechanic said , that"although the cam chains on the KTM superduke are very tight as stock (unlike a jap bike where you can turn the cam 1/4 turn without the tensioner and blade ) it would still have accelerated wear on the cam chain.

So instead of changing at 40'000 you would prob have to do it at 20'000 to be safe .
SO if they give me a extended warranty on the engine for 12months , i'll take it back as it is.

What do you reckon guys ??

Am i doing the right thing .

Oh i hope you get your brakes soon , as per that e mail KTM have 96% in stock , so we can say thats true.

Just a update , as i am so fed up.

As i may have mentioned on the 7th July , the noise and the cam tensioner problem , so wind forward to last fri , i rang Fowlers Murder cycles , in Bristol ,

"Whats happening now the ins assessor has been out "

"Ooh im sorry , i forgot to ring and chase up the parts " ( thanks Sara G.)
"i will do it monday "

I rang monday , "Our parts man is off today , i cant do anything"
f*@k i thought ..............rang there parts dept myself .......2 wks for a tensioner guide and a bolt.......................

Ring Redline racing , 4 days to your door , cool .

So i rang Fowlers service dept again , and asked for the part numbers so i could arrange for the parts i will pay for to be sent directly to them .........

So a miracle took place , after i left 2 message's that they didnt reply too earlier in the day , they said " its ok , the parts came in earlier , we will fit them tmrw or wed and you can have your bike wed or thursday "

So i thought i'd just ring today , as they are the worst dealer i have met in the last 24 yrs , and yep you guessed it , ITS NOT READY , i could just cry !!!

Its just not funny , im really sad and fed up , apparently after they told me the parts , all 2 of them arrived , they went and checked them , to find that , The service dept , manager Sarah had only ordered 1 part , not the 2 needed to finish it .

So they have a part on V.O.R. next day ..................they say .......

So it may me fitted thursday , but to be quite honest , i'm so fed up with them , i dont know wether i can pick up the phone again , to be told that it wont be ready for a 4th time , and then dissapointed again.

Well , Fowlers have to have the bike back , my ins comp and trading standards , say they must have a chance to put it right ................

They refused to replace the engine as a new unit , and will only repair the damage to it , snapped cam chain rear cyclinder , valve's into pistons , big ends ........

God only knows when i will get her back , wish i hadnt just spent £450 on the single seat kit and fitted it

Ktm , didnt call me back either .

To be honest , i wont be buying another one trying the RC8 ............
Fowlers ruined my "Ready to race " "READY TO WAIT " expierience with the product .

For sale , 1900 miles 12 months old , crashed once badly repaired , blown engine , any takers
