Only 1000 miles on bike and started getting high idle one day (~3k) intermittent. Would slow after prolonged stop and then back up. Next day idle fluctuating 3-4k as if repeatedly reving 2 times per second. No warning lights on display. About to take it to local non KTM shop. Have seen threads on moisture in Big Gray Connector and Throttle position sensor issues as well as temp sensors. Any advice on what I should ask them to check or better off hauling bike to KTM certified shop?

Try the 15 min reset and take it for a good spin afterwards.

Oh.. and welcome

Sounds like you already know what to look for. The throttle position sensor caused this issue with my bike. get a voltmeter and check to make sure it's set correctly at closed and WOT. never hurts to clean and degrease the BGC either.

Also maybe fuel filters or dodgy fuel. .. Then bgc, hook up tune ecu and check your throttle percentage and voltage to your tps

As a couple have mentioned here...it is your BGC connector between the ECU and the TBs. Do a search and follow the instructions for drying and lubing with dilectric grease and your bike will be sorted.

I had this exact issue 4-5 years ago, chased my tail for 6 months trying to sort it out. Once I discovered moisture in the BGC I dried it out with compressed air and lubed it with dilectric grease the problem has never rueturned.
