2011 Superduke R crazy idle RPM

i've got this intermittent problem on my superduke r where the idle RPM would go crazy and idle at 3-4k RPM...i've did the 15 minute reset procedure and still the problem persist. it doesnt happen regularly but the chances of it happening is higher if the engine is hot after some 20-30 minutes ride. must be electrical stuff..can you guys help me narrow down the cause? all the lights, fuel pump is functioning just fine. fuse all checked. could be dying battery, broken rectifier, corroded electrical connection?

the bike mileage now is 3869km..age is around 13months. bike is fully stock and still under warranty.

[UPDATE]
ask my KTM dealer to use his KTM magic box to diagnose the electronic problem..got one trouble code which if i'm not mistaken is "Rollover input signal too high". not that i know what it means though..even the dealer is scratching his head. he did the ECU reset and now the bike seems ok. the idle even when the problem doesnt kick in is around 1.6k RPM..last time around it was 1.9K..i wont want to jinx the bike by saying the problem is fix yet..still plenty of testing need to be done

[UPDATE]
Cleaning and blowing the moisture out of the BGC "Big Grey Connector" does the trick. the idle is no longer surging and it even felt much smoother now. that could be caused by the ECU reset or Liqui Moly Injector Cleaner...aparently moisture in BGC is known to cause all sort of intermittent weird electronic problem..

[UPDATE 17/07/2013]
Problem is reappearing. foook cleaned and dry and grease the hell out of that BGC multiple time but still same issue. connected a voltage tester on the battery terminal during idle it read 12.43V on engine idle it read 14.04V..seems ok to me. any more possible cause here guys?

Its the big grey connector on the Right hand side up front on bike.
You have to Take the R/H tank fairing panel off and you should be able to see it.
You will have to lift tank so you will need to remove both fairing panels and move radiator overflow bottle out of the way to make the job easier.
Unplug connector and spray isopropyl alcohol on the connectors let it dry and put a nice amount of dielectric grease on the connectors.
What happens is the BGC gets moisture in it and causes havoc with the electronics the dielectric grease stops the problem recurring.
You can use WD40 but i like isoproply alcohol the best.

i pop open the Big Grey Plug and there is definitely moisture in it..clean the contact point with some nail varnish remover and then hairdryer to blow it dry..

ok so far the bike is running smooth..the idle is not misbehaving even after prolong ride. the BGC could be the magix fix here

Exactly a problem I've had before and the diagnosis and remedy were excellent. Classic BGC problem. I wonder if KTM have ever taken note of our comments on this subject. Mine's a 2010 model and it wasn't right.

Liqui Moly Injector Cleaner...any of you guys tested it on your SD? to clean and unblocked the fueling system?

I use Lucas Oil injector cleaner periodically. Does what it says which is nice considering the crap fuel the fed pushes on us.

Just stepped in for a cup of coffee and a wash up.
Doing my BGC and local clean-up. I have been plagued by the dash delimna. Clocks are now back to zero miles again. The dash mimics start up cycle while riding and does this mimic in a sporadic timing. Sometimes cycling after three minutes, sometimes cycling before it even finishes a complete cycle.
This may be deeper Than Doug dare do.
As a famous Los Alamitos man said," If you cant fix it with a hammer, it must be an electrical problem."
Ill add if you cant spray solution the problem away, itt must be a mechanics problem.

Loose connectors/broken wiring at battery/earth or failing reg/rec and/or battery.

Just finished wrestling with this problem (I hope).

I wanted to add a word of warning to those using cleaners on the MALE connector:
Be careful of that little orange gasket. It's made of soft rubber and anything like acetone or strong electrical parts cleaner will cause it to shrink and warp. This makes it a real pain in the arse when it's time to put the male and female connectors back together. (I don't care how much lube you use!)

damn issue is surfacing again..come and go. idle usually will start to surge once the engine is idle..make we want to sell the bike and get a MX and blast through the country side..
