I know from talking to a number of people that there has been some debate as to whether a 60 section rear tyre will fit .
I'm sure many of you know the answer to this already but: yes it does.
I fitted a lightly scrubbed Pirelli Supercorsa Pro SC0 to the SD and ran it for a few laps.
Even though I was just pottering around the acceleration felt a bit off especially at higher speeds; the reason for which is easily seen if you compare your current gearing and a 55 against the same with a 60 in gearing commander:

I shall be dropping another tooth off the front to compensate.
Kev @ Projex-UK is doing part worn sets at 100, 120 & 140 I believe.

So how is the the turning characteristics and side grip feel on the 60 when compared to the 55? Can you get on the power earlier out of the corner? Is worth mounting a 60 in terms of improvement, even after you change the gearing to accommodate the the taller tyre? I would not mind trying it if there was one.

Its like raising the back 9mm (without having to change suspension) sharper turn in more ground clearance (which has the same effect as droping the front 5mm approx ...only without loss of ground clearance)

Not sure adding rear ride hieght is a good thing TBH.

Yes I agree
But if you have not got a 'R' rear shock it’s also the least expensive way of getting the back raised 4.5mm (not to sure now I have it, that I want it...just wanted the increased ground clearance really and having to re-jig the bike to get it to handle as it did before)
Or you could trade added 4.5 mm for increased SAG
Its also a cheap way of seeing how it effects your bike
All of this is does not apply to me until Dunlop bring out a 60 series on the D211 (if ever)

I'd try the new tyre, pick up some scrubs and it's not a huge gamble.
I only use posh expensive rubber in Spain as a rule - D211 slicks at the moment
