Today while attempting to reset my gearindicator (gear indicator was giving false readings after sprocket change from 38 to 40) I accidentaly reset my clocks! ODO, both tripmeters, speed was in mph again (it's an imported uk bike) temp in Fahrenheit.
Why is this even possible? All I did was turn the ignition on and off again 5 times. (which was needed to reset my gearindicator)
Does anyone know if the ktm dealer can change the odo back to the correct km's again? Or isn't this reversible?
Thanks!

To change back to KPH go onto ODO mode and press the top button for 10 seconds.
Don't know about losing the total kms though, sorry.

Already set the mph back to kmh, temp back to celcius and set the time.
Also went by my local dealer, but he is on holiday of course and won't be back until the 8th of august.

I didn't think you could reset the mileage... what with being able to sell a 30,000mile bike as a 3,000mile bike being a bit naughty and all that!

You shouldn't be able to but there are cases of it happening. To get the millage set on a clock it has to go to KTM Austria which is obviously a major pain in the arse.

Told this to a KTM dealer today.
He couldn't believe this has happened. And he surely had never heard of something like this happening...

Just got off the phone with the local dealer. He had never heard of it either. This should not be possible.
He can't programme it back to the original mileage, when they change a dash they get it from the supplier with the correct mileage already programmed in it.

If the bike is under warranty then KTM should cover sending you a new clock with last recorded millage on it.

Bike is from 07, and imported from the UK, so I'm afraid my warranty is gone.
I'll just have to live with it.

Kicking up the old topic. Clocks have reset again. Seems like the clocks reset everytime the battery (or the clocks themselves) are disconnected.
Anyone know if there is a back up battery or something inside the clocks that makes sure the memory isn't erased as soon as the battery is disconnected?
Thanks
