Just got back after an abortive start to get up to Cadwell to see Viking race. Got about 6 miles from home and stopped to have a fiddle with my rear view camera. Get back on the bike to get the soft 31 dreaded warning and the bike wont turn over. Bollox. This has happened before but always in the morning at home, never on the road as in my experience once the bike fires up the battery will get charged up very quickly if it was a bit low.
Anyway I end up pushing the thing for three or four miles but it's just so hilly and it's hot weather here this morning. I was going to have a heart attack so I get Amy to ring a local bike shop and they send out a guy with a trailer. Cost me £40 to get the last two or three but its the best £40 I ever spent!!!
On charge now so hopefully I can get away again in few hours. Need to check whether it's the regulator though because otherwise I'll be on total loss and might end up stuck again up in Louth tomorrow morning. When I rang KTM to ask advice from the side of the road they were gobsmacked that I was still on the original battery from new back in 2007. You could just hear from the pauses on the phone they're thinking, "Mate, you need a new battery, they never last this long!"

I put a battery in mine right after I bought it, I'm amazed you are still on your stock one.
I keep mine on the battery tender if it is going to sit more than a day or two.

mine lasted 4 years, then began to fail a few times before it finally packed up for good, chap said they start to fail a few times before packing in totally as the cells begin to die

if that code is a low battery problem, can{t the SD just be turned on on second gear and a downhill or run?
when I crashed head on, I didn´t want the fuss involved, since some guys where there helping me out, they helped me get on the SD, pushed the SD, I released the clutch on second gear and to my surprise it turned on, no headmask, no tilt sensor, no nothing at the front....and still turned on and got to the hospital like that
cant´t that be done when a low batt warning appears?

In my experience the SD is impossible to bump start as the compression is way too high. I remember me and Klinky trying to push start Shade's SDR for ages and we had a hill and everything to help us. You just can't get enough weight to bear down on the back tyre when you dump the clutch.
Also I'm not really sure if you need more electrical power for something, like the fuel injection etc, to work enough for the engine to start, even if you could get the crank turning through the back wheel?
Evilwerkz, mate, if you did it then you must have been a very lucky guy at the time

I too had soft 32 dat 101 problem this week.
Decided to buy a used Rec\Reg from ebay at the moment, 77$ shipped.
I'm also going for a Shorai battery.
Unfortunately, aside from making me about 290$ poorer, it also means the bike is not going anywhere for at least 3 weeks.
