Have this problem with the Superduke R 2010 batch where the bike sometime wont tick over when you press the ignition button. No sound of the ignition at all. As if the ignition button is broken. But usually on the second attempt the button works just fine and the bike started no problem. and recently the FI light on the dash blinks when i try to start it with the same symptom of no tick over. but after turning the key off and on again, the bike started no problem.

Here's some more info
- Neutral light is there. Gear is in neutral
- Fuel pump sounded when turning the key to on
- Battery power is sufficient
- Fuel is sufficient
- and i rarely start the bike so that could be an issue

now where should i start....diagnose time

These bikes love a good solid ground. Tighten all connections at battery and surounding area.

Mine used to do that for a while. I pulled all the fuses, made sure they where clean and pushed them back in, did the same with all the connectors for the relays under the seat and checked all the negative connectors from the battery to the starter motor. Also checked and cleaned all connectors on the side of the battery box. Problem gone and never came back.

do you guys think it might be caused by me putting to much dielectric grease on the earth connection to the frame? will give all the electrical point a good cleaning with alcohol this weekend
