Gentlemen

As some of you are aware i had a bit of an off back in april on the track......

Well the bike is now fixed courtesy of the track in questions public liability insurers, they have been very reasonable about the whole thing and covered not only the bike repair but also my gear as well.

The reason for this post is to ask you all to check your upper crash bobbins. One of the problems with the SD post crash was that it would not run in gear and had an FI light flashing showing a fault with the rear cylinder lambda sensor. This was caused by the fact that the bolts holding the upper crash bung mount are slightly longer than the original bolts used at that point. On impact with the floor the wiring loom moved enough to impact the protruding bolt but cause no obvious external damage to the loom. Internally however it had snapped 5 wires.....

So please have a quick look in behind your crash bungs and make sure the loom is not to close to the ends of the bolts as it took the tech's 2 days to isolate the fault to this point on my bike - thankfully I wasn't having to pay!
