Recently the clutch on my SD has been slipping a lot, under anything modest acceleration the revs will just jump up and the speed will slowly catch up. It seems like the clutch is worn out, but I've got less than 5000 kilometers on the bike and I've never abused the clutch. I heard the slave cylinder could fail easily, but I would imagine that would give me the opposite problem?
Is there anything else that could cause this, or did I just end up with a bunk clutch and have to replace it?

Does the bike have a slipper clutch? If so, what brand?
What kind of engine oil have you been using?

Moto oil, or car oil? It matters ...
Assuming you're running moto oil, I might try one of the oils people have used successfully used (including those recommended by KTM).
Is the clutch lever seemingly stiff? I'd also try to ensure that there isn't anything preventing oil return to the clutch MC ... e.g. the slave cylinder maybe has some junk in it ... not too difficult to disassemble and clean. Getting it properly bled afterward is a little less trivial - be sure to only use the specified Magura mineral oil. BTW, Magura makes a nice little "kit" for doing that job.
Its not a major undertaking to remove the clutch cover to take look, see that the clutch actuates and returns as it should, check the torques on the pressure-plate springs. Not a big deal either to pop-off the pressure plate, check the springs and maybe a few of the plates to see if they are within spec. No, your clutch shouldn't be worn at this point, but if you're in there - might as well check.
There isn't that much to a clutch - if you don't want to attempt to sort it yourself, don't have the tools, or whatever - take it to your favorite mechanic.
