My Superduke (990) has started steaming a little bit on startup. You can just smell a little bit of antifreeze and see the steam for a second or two. It doesn't seem to be using much coolant. Bike has about 14-15,000 miles on it. Is this a sign that the valves need to be adjusted? Or do I need to start looking for a serious problem elsewhere, if so, any suggestions what to look for? The shop I was going to, sold out to a big dealership and customer service, I understand is non existent.
I have also been noticing my cloths smell horrible from the exhaust smell after riding. Seems like a stronger exhaust smell than before.

Re the coolant. Check the hoses around the thermostat housing, it is a well know issue that the clamps are sh*t. Get some proper clamps from your local auto shop and replace, most likely solves the issue. If not have a proper look where is leaks. Radiator cap is worth looking at too.
Re the smell. A lot of SD run very rich from stock. Follow the recommended mods list like SAS removal and so on and load a proper map or get a dyno session to get a custom map done. Tuneecu will sort this all out as you can switch the SAS, O2 and so off and load the map + it's proper diagnostic tool.
It will cure all issues like surging throttle, excessive fuel use and so on.
If you think the issues are connected check the water temp sensor on the left hand side of the front cylinder.

Not sure how many km's for the water pump seal to go, but I'm pretty sure that is not the problem!
If the waterpump seal goes it leaks water in the oil, not to the outside of the engine.
My money is on a shitty hose clamp...
