Hello guys, i've got a problem with my dashboard, when i switch on the ignition the only thing that works is the backlight, no tachosweep, no idiot lights, nothing.
After a search on this forum possible cause was rectifier/battery, changed both, no change.
Since the bike still starts and runs fine and de gear indicator still works (it needs a speed signal and rev signal) and it's between the ECU and the dash, i suspect the dash just shit itself.
My dash has always been troublesome: would completely reset each time battery was disconnected. (Odo, trips, clock everything back to 0.)

Does anyone know if the dash of a 990 SM or SMT works on the superduke?
Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the SM/SMT dashboard?
This would make the search for a replacement easier since SD dashboards are hard to find.

Thanks!

I think they are the same. All LC8 990 engine based bikes use the same with the exception of the early 05-06 SD's and other early models.
Best thing to do is have a google or look in to parts manual and compare the part numbers.

Check power source wiring and connectors noted here - viewtopic.php?f=5&t=10424&hilit=SOFT+32+DAT+101&start=25 - problem may not be clocks.

I checked the red white wire yesterday, and got 12, something volts on the connector that plugs in de Dash.
I'll ring a dealer tomorrow and see if i can borrow a set of clocks so i can try those and see if it's just that.

Just came across this: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=23135

SMT/SM abs Dash does not work on SD.
The abs dash does not display speed properly on the SD.

When i came into the garage this evening the fi light was burning. I checked the purple Brown wire going to the 2-pin connector, seems to be fine.

Soms additionel info, before i discovered the clocks had packed in, the bike had been standing in the garage for nearly 4 weeks.
Before that it worked as it should (apart from everything resetten when the battery was disconnected)

Already tried a different battery, the problem stayed. So i'll order a new dash this afternoon.
