I have had a search but couldn't find this issue. Forgive me if I've missed it.

Just fitted a new battery last week, old one was the original and shot.
Been fine since, until yesterday. Went to the bike after work, hit the button, and it fired up, but only I think on one cylinder. I took it round the block, still lumpy so parked it up again. Went to try it again and the starter button is just dead, nothing happens. All lights are bright and working, and the fuel pump primes when i switch the ignition on. I'm fairly sure its not the battery. There isnt even a click from anywhere when I push the start button.
Answers on a postcard please?

Will it start with the clutch pulled?

You may have a starter relay issue. Just replaced mine

No, it wont start with clutch in. How can I check the relay? Is it on the side of the battery box?

Could it be the side stand switch?
Have a look and give it a clean see what happens.

the battery is an ass to fit, is it possible you broke the negative or positive cable when fitting it? I'll check that first.
Normally breaks on the eyelet and under the heat shrink
