Hi All,

I'm at a bit of a loss currently as my SD seems to have had an electronic failure after I stalled it and I wanted other opinions before I take it to the local dealer.

Would appreciate any second opinions as I've had several guesses of Battery failure, solenoid, immobiliser (Datatool sys3) and I'm not prepared to do them all.

Thanks all for your input!

what did the charger say ? how long have you had bat ? though i've never experienced anything like that before even with nackered bat, weird, sorry can't help. i would check and clean all connections / blocks etc, could well be an earthing prob or short, good luck

My guess would be the reg/rec first, especially if it's the original one. Doesn't seem like a naff battery.

What JamBox said ^^^

I would also clean the BGC on the throttle side of the bike under the tank and clean all connectors where the chin fairing is.

Pretty sure that is a faulty negative somewhere.
When you switch the bike on the dash gets a negative via other stuff so it gets funny signal.

Nothing to do with reg-rec as the engine is not turning. Neither the battery as it would just go weak and die.

Check all the negative connections to the frame for starters. Not sure where the dash gets the negative from but I believe there is a lug on the frame near the headstock close to the ECU.

I see tell tail signs of corrosion on your front brake fluid cap and some rusty hardware.

I think you will also fine corrosion on your electrical connections.

Me thinks it time to give them all a good cleaning and lube job.
