Engine cut out from full throttle

Took my newly acquired 2011 990R for a blast and when I shut the throttle from flat out max rpm, the engine died. I think I bump started it, later I noticed the tick over had changed and appeared to be much higher. Then yesterday, again while on full throttle to throttle off, it seems to kill the engine just for a split second when I tried to get beck on the throttle iyswim.

It's possible there is a corroded and/or intermittent connection somewhere or perhaps a failing sensor (?) because the bike has been left stood for long periods. 1,900 miles in four years :-/

Is this a known fault? I'm going to check all the connections today and book it in to PDQ just up the road for a dyno tune when I can. Any thoughts?

Screwd.

You're based in London right? You could take it to Paul on St James Road for a once over. He'll be happy to help identify and or fix any issues.

Turns out it was because I had removed the db killers from the Akras.

Didn't think it would make that much difference but now they are back in, the bike is much better behaved on and off the throttle.

Course, it's now too bloody quiet!

That doesn't seem right. I'd get your bike on the dyno dude and have the map looked at.

Ok, thanks.

Maybe I'm not such an idiot after all!

Same thing happened when i took out my db killers, do a 15 min reset i think the bike may have stalled due to lack of back pressure as in a momentary flood
