Hey guys been lurking here some. I have an 08 SD with 3000 miles, I took it out for a 200 mile ride then took it to work a few days later and now it won't start. The FI light blinks 6 flashes pause then 7 flashes and repeats. It's not covered in the owners manual Is this something I can figure out if I buy the KTM repair manual? Or do I have to go to the dealership? Thanks.

I have greased the bgc with dielectric grease, the battery is less than a year old and I had it on the charger before but not consistantly through the winter. It doesn't try to crank. When the first battery died I got the soft32 dot 101 code or whatever it was so I didn't think that would be it. I'll get the battery load tested and post back. I'm in Connecticut, USA. Thanks.

These stock batteries don't seem to last in these bike very well if not kept on a trickle charge full time. Try seeing if your rectifier is putting out enough to keep everything peaked. My bike has a broken rectifier ground lead that was just hanging on by a hair and would not charge the bike all the time. That wire goes directly to the battery ground and is connected by a small ring terminal that takes a beating because the location of it. Try looking at that also. Maybe someone else will chime in and help also when the wake up.

Call a stealer and ask. Seriously. And if they are assholes and insist on you bringing it in - tell them to fook off and call another one. Be sure to bad mouth the first one when talking to the second one.

If it is the battery I would not throw the stock one back in. I used a 12cell Ballostic Evo 2 standard post and the thing is a dream to stay the bike now . Stock 260cca and Ballistic 410cca huge boost in power and still like 7 lbs lighter and smaller

dude...when in doubt..
Just pop for a GOOD new battery..!!!
I went through Hell when mine went bad...
and get yourself a good battey tender too..!!!!
Mine went south..No tender...
Got a new Yuasa from my battery vendor at work...$70
IT was bad...
The things that low voltage can do...geez...
Gauge clust going berzerk..
clicking at the starter relay after a 1 1/2 crank spin then click.. nothing..
headlight goes to just a filament orange glow..
Scratchin my head...shit..!!!!
No amount of charging will help a bad battery..
I sent it to the stealer.(under warantee still)
I was thinking the worst..something else MUST be wrong..

oh yah...in my hast..I installed the rectifier wires backwards...
I know...don't ask me how I did it...
You don't get enough wire to do that..I did though

Well I pulled the battery 12.4 volts and the high beam looks bright. Charged it at 2 amps for 12 hours brought it to where i got it and it load tested ok. Put it back in today and it threw the same code. I cleaned all the electrical connections with contact cleaner still nothing. I'm gonna look over things one more time but looks like I'm going to the dealer. Thanks for the ideas, at least I had something to try. I'll post back the result.
