Hey guys, Had my first spill on the weekend after 9 years on the road. I was leant over mid corner accelerating onto a freeway on-ramp and the honda accord about 4 car lengths in front of me decided to jump on the brakes instead of merging into the completely empty lane next to him .
Long story short, i grabbed brake while leant over, front tucked under & i went into the back of old mate Accord.

So the bike hasnt been assessed by the insurer yet, but to me it looks like Bent forks, massive hole in the radiator scratched plastics, levers & bars bent etc.

There's no visible damage to the frame that i can see - but i dont know what these bikes are prone to after a front end crunch.
Anyone have any experience in a similar situation?

Cheers

Rohan

Glad you're OK! I can't help with the damage assessment, unfortunately. Are you basically trying to decide whether to buy it as salvage from your insurance company? Sounds like they will total it, given what parts cost on these things. Good luck! Two local riders have been killed this week here in the PNW, it reminds me to appreciate the friends we have and the sport that we love. So, I'm glad you're still with us- that could have been a lot worse.

I've always liked the quote in your sig line, it sounds like something my wife would say... actually she did say that when I brought home the 450 EXC.

Glad you are well enough to post, and I have to agree with 81 forest.....probably a right off. The insurer will estimate repairs on ANY damage they find and the cost to replace them all with new damage free parts. The forks alone are a chunk of change, plus all the labour required to execute the repairs.
Good luck, really glad you are ok.
