Hey guys. Just got my bike back from the dyno (had to drop it off while I went to work). They sorted out my lean fuel issues, but the owner told me that my bike really struggles to get the fuel going in the upper RPM's on heavy throttle. The new tune works great in the low and mid-range but around 5K and up on heavy throttle it hesitates. The bike starts up perfectly every time though. How do I go about troubleshooting this and finding out if my fuel pump or injectors or filter is bad?

If bike has sat around for any length of time the inectors could become clogged but I would think this would be felt at all RPM.

Try running a few tanks of fuel with a good inector cleaner and see if this helps the situation.

Just added some injector cleaner on the way home today. We'll see if that makes any difference but after reading around on the forum I'm starting to suspect the fuel pump. A couple people have complained that they couldn't get the bike past 4-5K without the bike bogging down and hesitating (my issue exactly). Gonna do a little more research to verify but please keep chiming in if you can give me any advice.

I've been limping the bike around on it's fuel issue (still starving for fuel above ~5K and have to go easy on the throttle), but still not sure if what is specifically the problem. Well today I rode my bike from work over to school when my low fuel light came on. No big deal, school is only about 10 miles away. After about 8 or so miles, my bike begins to surge. I hold steady on the gas, but it still continues to rock (steady like a rocking chair). I pull over on a hypothesis and fill up the gas tank. I fire her back up, and she rides surge-free. Does this confirm a bad fuel pump? Pretty sure it does but just want to make sure.
