Hi guys I have just come across some carbon fibre fuel tank side panels off a 2005 Superduke, does anyone know if they will fit my 20011 Superduke R?

I couldn't say for certain, but I doubt they'll fit - the Mk. 2 iteration of the 990 (from 2007 onwards I believe, and including the SDR) had a larger capacity fuel tank. I may be wrong and am happy to be called as such by more knowledgeable members. In the absence of a more convincing answer, why not get the vendor of the side panels to send you photos from the side and above so you can remove one of your panels and compare? In the meantime someone may come along to give you a definitive answer...

They are different.

But every time this topic comes up there's always someone who says they have successfully fitted '06 panels to and '07+ bike, and vice versa, with a bit of modification. I personally can't see how because they are a different shape.

The 05-06 panel will not fit on a 07-forward tank. The top front part of the side panel that cowers the radiator extends further back on the 05-06.
