i don't torque the steering head nut to a specific number, if you have a damper, disconnect it, then with some help get a mate to pull the bike onto the side stand by holding it over the tank lifting the front wheel off the ground. tighten the nut till there is slight resistance as the steering falls to the lock. if you have play you may need to tighten it until the play is gone to seat the cup and cone then back off the nut till you're happy. re attach the damper if you have one and you're set. If they're new bearings you will need to check them in 1000 klms and probably re adjust them slightly.
cheers,
paul.
