I changed my old battery for a new one to day. It's a fiddly job on the 990 and the plus and negative cables did touch one time resulting in some sparks and me wetting my pants. Then when all was hooked up the bike was totally dead! When turning on the ignition absolutely nothing happens. I have checked all the fuses in the fuse box and the fuse on the Starter Relay, but they are all fine. Have I fried some electrical component just by that little touch of the cables or is there a fuse somewhere else?

I don't know if there is anothe fus.

Normally if you turn on the ignition and nothing happens the battery is dead or the general fus (the starter relay one) is burned because of a shortcircuit (i think this happend to you)

If the battery is new is very strange but try to conect it to a battery charger and when is fully charged try again.

Try to change the general fus too, there are 2 green so you can replace one for another.... maybe looks good but is burned

Doing these 2 things if nothing happend... ufffff bad news.

Good luck mate.
