Alright. So I bought some Contenential race attack comp med front and rear tyres. They are such a brand new tyre not to many people even carry them yet. So I look at the tyre date code and it says( 1507). Doesn't that
mean 2007 15th week? If they are so new why were they made in 07? I'm fooking pissed. All my other tyres say 10 or 11 for the year code. Wtf! Am I looking at this wrong?

no I beleive you got a tyre that was made the week your byke was loaded on a ship to sail the Atlantic.
I am surprized at the date due to the fact that they are advertized as new new attack.
First two digits the week of, and last two the year of.
Are they mounted?
Unless they are for track, They will do you fine for a season.
They are selling Diablo's at Cycle Gear for $189 plus tax.
I ussually purchase two sets of thier yearly good deals for a season.
They run the Dunlop every other year, or so it seems.
Until the one tyre rule was instituted into racing there were few and very far between that would run Conti-anything. I think they are aggresively marketing their wares right now, too bad they shoot themselves in the foot with shinnanigans like this.

Conti Race Attacks have definitely been around for that long. So, it sounds like someone dumping old stock. Who did you buy them from so I can avoid that company?

Got them from motorcycle-superstore. Think I'm going to return them a this would be the third time they fooled my order up. They claim these are brand new tyres. Hell even the mags did a write up on them and said they were great. They have three different compounds which the old one did not. How did they mold a new tyre and date it old? Wtf!

You're reading the date code right. "New" simply means not previously mounted/used. They are not race tyres, and won't be super-sensitive to temperature cycling typical of warehousing. But then, that's the question - how were they stored.

Want fresh? Get your buns here:

Call in your order with them, and there's a good chance you'll get a better price than online - not kidding. No shipping. No tax. If you don't see what you want, another reason to call it in - they can get it.

If you want race rubber (only Michelin), try an affiliate of theirs: This group also has a temperature/RH controlled room for storage; no real risk with a tyre that might be up to 3 years old. Many tyres I've received from them, have been dropped shipped from Michelin N.A. HQ - super fresh.

Ok. So the place we got the from was powers ports superstore. I repeat do not buy crap from these dicks. They were so unhelpful about the tyres. We are sending them back for a refund but we have to pay the return shipping. They said the tyres are brand newly released tyres and they can't explain the date. Complete customer service bullshit! So we reordered them from Bikebandit. $140 less on top of that.

I'm going to try and call Contiental tomorrow and see what the deal is with these tyres and tell them about their vendor and what a piece of sheet company they are!

Still need to contact them. You would happen to have a U.S. number for them? I may have to wake up super early to shoot them a mouth full!

Lance I feel your pain. The problem is if you get a great track tyre ,then they are not the best mileage on the street.I love diablo rossa's for me they make a great track tyre. But you won't get a ton of milage.

My RC8R came with the new dunlaps sportmarts. The jury is still out on those.
This is why it is good to have a set of track rims then you can run the bad ass track tyre and then run a street tyre.

Those diablo's are on sale the price is cheap. You will love them on at chucky and if they don't last more than 2-3 thousand miles on the back it won't be such a big deal.

I am thinking of getting an extra set I have a brand new set on my track wheels ready to go. But at 300 bucks for a set it's worth it.
Once you try the diablo's on the track you will love them. and never go back.

I am leaving the dunlaps for the street like you I am not a fan.I think they are too hard.

Funny. I called that number 2 more times and it beeped twice and hung up on me. Called it a third time and I got the Continential answer . Weird. Call them in the morning and pick their brain a little and listen to their excuses .

Continential is no fooking help! They said the tyres are not new and have been out for some time. Just only sold at the tracks and not vendors. N. ow they decide to sell them to vendors and the are five years old.
I got my new tyres from bikebandit and the tyres have the same exact date as the first set.....No surprise. Im just going to run them and never buy Continential again. They look like great tyres which pisses me off even more.

FWIW, I'm lovin' the K3s on the S1000RR. I know a bunch of the Brits speak well of them on the SD. I never tried them before, but must say they have not disappointed so far. A bit spendy though. Oh well, there is no such thing as a free lunch.
