How much coolant is actually in a 2009 superduke?. The manual doesnt actually give a capacity and the service manual I have downloaded states 2.1litres but i cant get any more in than 1.4litres. The radiator cap has 1.4 written on top does this mean anything?, I just assumed it was the pressure it opens at but dont know for sure.
Cheers Gary.

Fill it, raise the front wheel in the air, burp it, and top off. Doing a balance point wheelie for a respectable distance works, or a ramp into the back of a truck or picnic table is good too. You may want to add a little extra in the reservoir because some of the coolant will eventually wind up in the oil...

Sorry to be a pain but that still doesnt tell me the actual amount, I ask as if you put in the total capacity then you know there are no air locks and it wont pray on your mind for the next six rides

hotbrakes is right

jack front wheel / end up 50mm, fill radiator, slowly and fill reseviour 3/4 up or half, lower bike and take out bleed screw from other side of rad (opposite to rad cap, run engine until no bubbles/air put screw back in and cap on, run bike until 4 bars then run for 5 mins, let cool top up coolant if needed, then just keep an eye on level for a ride or 2. then done (this is on an 06)

I put bike on rear axle stand and jack front

good luck

I managed to get in about 1,9 liters after bleeding old coolant out through water pump screws. Reservoir is filled to max mark with 1,9 liters. Last 200ml went in after front rising, when I got some air bubbles out of rad cap hole.

Probably some old coolant left in, I don't know. After draining old coolant out, I did my best to blow air into radiator cap and got about 100g of old coolant out additionally, which was still in after draining.

Just quoting the manual and what mine took when fully drained - big lemons, I guess.
