Hi all

Anyone knows how to open speedo without making any damage? Seems to be sealed pretty well, I don't want to leave marks on the housing. Advice (besides "leave it alone"

Most issues are with the connector on the back, easy to get to.
The other one is water ingress, plenty of units died from that. Try drying it out in a warm and dry environment. (don't turn the oven up too high...
Otherwise I believe it is sealed and besides cutting the plastic there is no way.

Thanks ktmguy. I don't have any issues, I'm just boring and been thinking to change backlight colour and in the same time wrap black plastic surrounding with real carbon fibre and apply glossy finish. But to do that I would need to open it first. I didn't google anything regarding this, so it may be impossible, but worth to ask.

Remove four screws from rear of unit and (gently) pull off cover - to get to bulbs, (very gently) pull off tacho needle, remove two (?) screws from l and rhs and lift out backing plate.

Suggest sealing cover and base unit joint with silicone when reassembling - I've also wrapped joint with black insulating tape to keep water out.

When you screw it back together, I'd make sure you don't over tighten the speedo case screws, otherwise over time this can cause cracks to form in the cover. These are pretty annoying and cause misting.
