Hey guys ,I finally got to ride my duke since i got it back from the first service.
I got the motobox,FMF apex pipes and a new map.I also put a tank of 110 octane leaded gas.

The mech told me that KTM only has one map now for the duke.He said the o2 sensors are off.
I asked him if it was the akra map.He said it is the only one.

The bike rides well seems fast.It does not feel like it is that powefull. When I go thru the gears the front end does not come up or even feel like it wants to.I do have stock gearing. The low end surges are gone.going thru turns are great when I gas it comming out of a turn I tought I would be able to do some power wheelies.I think it is running rich.

I am not saying the bike is running bad.I just feel the bike it not all that it could be.With all the mods I have I thought for sure it would pull power wheelies.I am going to install a new vortex rear sprocket with two teeth.I just want more low end grunt.for now I don't care about top end.

I am thinking about seeing what the ecu tune has but I don't know what map. I need one that matches my mods.
Anyone have any thoughts.I have the cables and all the downloads I am ready to use the tune ecu
I know this bike has the power I just don't think it is tuned right.Or is this normal with stock gearing
Thanks guys

Maybe this could be down to the hot abient temps in AZ??

I have an 05 with 16/38 gearing, round Akras and PC3 with Akra map and it will easily lift the front off the throttle coming out of 2nd gear corners. It is always pretty cool here though. Yesterday it as 20deg C and that is a very warm day over here. The bike did feel a bit flat compared to what it is usually like, but would still lift the front off the throttle in 2nd, and again in 3rd over any little rise/hump.

You guys will be sitting at 40deg C over there i'd imagine. With that hot dry air you have thats gotta have a big effect

i dont know how often i have to say this but putting in super dooper extreme octane fuel will not actually boost performance... in fact it can hinder the performance and cause pinging (reverse of detonation).

the insanely high octane fuels will only benefit you once you tune your advance settings to accommodate for the slower burning fuel or bump up compression.

while you are running a tune to run 95 to 98 RON (or equivalent) 110 octane will not actually help. If you plan to run 110 all the time... get your advance sorted... you could probably run 5-8degrees more advance with that stuff... huge performance gains then (dont do this without a dyno).

but I think that if the front is not wanting to lift... either you are not wanting to twist the trottle hard enough or there is something wrong with your bike... my front will lift (even on a 30deg C day) on power 1,2,3 and with some luck from the road the 4th will even loft up (not high but still lifts).

and if they have not loaded the akra because they say it does not exist... find another dealer.

the akra map does NOT disable the 02 sensors... only the EPC (2nd,3rd gear limiter)

maybe you still have the epc still connected up... you can either manually remove it or use tune ecu

in fact just get tune ecu and do away with your dealer all together as they seem to be useless on the whole

Hi mate,
are you sure theyve loaded the Ackra map.
Your bike should be wheeling on the throttle at least the first 2 gears and in 3rd with a little tug on the bars especially over a little bump.
Im no expert regarding the high octane fuel but to me like said earlier if your running it you need to alter the timing.
Might be best to run with some normal 95 / 98 fuel.
Ps dont forget im from the uk and we dont have your intense hot weather to deal with.

Duke mate. I think you really need to get a custom map done to suit your bike. The standard KTM/Akro map is not going to suit the Motobox and the exhaust and all the other mods you've done. You don't say whether you've got a PC or tuneboy or other management system fitted? You need to get one fitted and use it to suit.

Also, the bog standard Sd will pull wheelies etc. Straight from the crate. Give it a bit more throttle!!! First gear, low speed, 5,000rpm, wind on fast, it will wheelie. BHP and motobox and mods make no difference to this effect. Honest. Don't judge mods on this behaviour.

Mickey Cohen in Orange County has one of the best reputations around as a dyno tuner, and he did a spectacular job on one of my friends' '07 SD. The only thing is, he'll only tune it if you have a PC III.
