So, I was scheduled for an oil change yesterday and figured I'd install the SAS block off plates since they were sitting there for a month or so. I ended up just unbolting the oil reserve tank, the return hose, and wiggling things around until I was able to remove and replace the front cylinder's SAS plate. The rear one was easier than convincing a drunk frat bro that shot's are an awesome idea.
I never noticed the "surge" issue that was described on the forums. I figured, it was just because that's how a V-twin litre bike was. But wow, the SAS plates really smoothed it out. Now it feels the same as my old I4 600 at lower RPMs. Coming out of turns or coming off the line, I gotta give it a lot more throttle to even imitate how the bikes used to feel with me just barely trying to crack it open and control the RPMs.
I don't know why I didn't do this sooner. When I first got the bike, I should've done this right when I pulled into my garage.

Guess you remembered to reconnect the return line...
I did not...At least it was time for an oil change anyway.
