Ok, simple question but the answer seems to vary from Bike to Bike.

When shutting off the SDr, should you use the kill switch or the key?

On my old yam you used the kill switch because it allowed the servo to reset itself to zero for a proper start. As this bike and its ways are still new to me I was wondering what the general opinion was for the turn off procedure?

Cheers

I've always used the key to switch things off. That way you don't forget to actually turn off the electrical system. You also don't come back to the bike the next time, switch the key on and wonder why it won't start ( if the kill switch wasn't reset from when it switched to kill the engine ).

Key, all the time, every time, so many people leave their ignition/key on & stuff their coils, in some cases they can burn out instantly or just get worse & worse over time until it wont run properly, not sure on the 1290 wiring but I know this can happen on older bikes (& cars)

I turn my SDR off with the key. Same thing for the Aprilia scooter.

Generally I shut my SD down with the kickstand.
