Hi All
While doing a bit of tidying on my 990 i took the cam cover off to be powder coated.
i put them back on and the front one leaked at the front edge, so i changed the rubber gasket and it still leaks
any ideas to stop it leaking? instant gasket? RTV?
need help because it is a pain getting off and don't want to do it again....

They normally never leak. Did you replaced the gasket? Where does it leak from?
No cracks in the cover?

Are you sure that the oil leak is not from the spark plug cavity drain hole?

After powder coating was the mateing surface on both head and cam cover free from rubbish?

Thanks for all the quick reply's
Ok, its only the front of the front cylinder, from the looks of it its the front edge where it mates to the cylinder head, there are no cracks and i cleaned everything up and put a new rubber gasket on, it definitely looks like its from the front edge and only does it when the engines under load?
hate to think this but could the cover have warped during coating (was done by a specialist in coating magnesium)
