Fellas,
12.5 months ago I had my water pump shaft seal replaced because I was loosing a small amount of coolant. They fixed it under warranty, that warranty is now gone. It continued to loose some coolant over the last year and I saw some casting sand in the over flow tank. It seems that they never fully flushed out the casting sand when they did the water pump overhaul. So I decided to flush out the coolant system and possibly rebuild the water pump shaft seal.
After I bleed the system and I rise off the bike with water I heat the engine up and I see steam, normal.... and I see steam.... and steam http://s391.photobucket.com/albums/oo35 ... G_8901.mp4

You said after you rinsed the bike you see a lot of steam. That would be normal because the rad just got hosed...from the out side. Fill the coolent tank, burb it and go for a ride up hill so if you think the motor is over heating you can coast home for plan two.
Can't see any steam from your vido on my monitor. Must not be that bad. Do you smell coolent? That when you want to get excited.

If in fact your radiator is leaking you can get it repaired....wayyy cheaper than a new rad. Company call Myler's out in Fontana will get you sorted. They repair and pressure test to assure problem sorted.
What year is your bike? 07 or 08?

Sorry, the video is low res. I went for a nice ride, let it idle and the whole rad was dry and hot. I could see steam coming out from 2 places and I could smell that sweet coolant.
I knew you could repair car radiators but wasn't sure about bikes. I'll call them today and then buy a cox protector for it. Thx Lowrance!
I'll keep you posted.
O7 with a silver swingarm (someday ill swap it for a black one).
