In search of more ground clearance i found several posts about a&l and cycle controls adjustable rear set mounts. Apparently these can no longer be purchased.

Does somebody know alternatives.

I would have bought the power parts or RIZOMA adjustable rear sets but as i found on these forums since they have fixed pegs they could bend the chassis mounts in case of a crash. Anybody have a crash with these kind of pegs?

Hey thank you all.

Yep, Powerparts fixed peg rear sets bend the frame fixing tabs in a crash but I've bent them back again a few times now.

Thanks for the answer.

I am not a big fan of bending and rebending. But there are no alternatives probably.

Was just the tabs, not the frame itself.

Keep an eye on motohooligan, as he is looking to reproduce the adjuster plates

With sold rearsets the tabs will get a bit bent if the bike goes down, although mine haven't bent badly in 3x 40mph lowsides on track. As Jambox says Motohooligan makes some adjusters that raise the standard ones to avoid them touching down.

Motohooligan makes a set for the 1290. I have the "old" 990.

Could be that he plans on making these for the 990 in the future guess a lot depends on demand for this item.
