Hey guys,
Just wondering what gloves everyone is wearing and what would you recommend for hot weather?

I was considering the deinese air hero, but I'm reading mixed reviews so not I'm not sure.

I'm currently wearing Alpinestars GP-Pro but they are a pain in the arse to put on with clammy or sweaty hands. (Which is most of the time in FL).

Before I crashed the SD I was contemplating a pair from this company They are not the Ricky-racer boy look, but I think they'd be super comfortable and cool wearing. Once I get my ride sorted out I will likely purchase a pair.

I was wearing these gloves when I crashed and they got a tiny tear and a cosmetic scratch to the left knuckles. . Very comfortable. Not fully vented, but I think the perspiration gets absorbed by the leather and then evaporates.

Best of luck!

I've currently got a pair of Held Titan

http://www.motorrad-testbericht.at/maga ... itan_1.jpg

Very comfy, quite expensive but worth the money. Come in half sizes so can get really good fit. Kangaroo palm, cow hide, titanium armour and stingray leather!! Not the coolest in summer but I need my hands for work so like to protect them.

Currently wearing a pair of Alpinestars SP-2 gloves, very comfy and protected me well when I had an off at 60mph. However I didn't notice when buying them that they lack a wrist strap, it's really my only complaint about them and it makes me feel a little uncomfortable wearing them since I feel they might slip off if my hand was caught under my body or the bike during a slide.

Pic for reference, and yes I have this color. I love the high vis since it makes it really easy to see when I'm giving you the finger at speed.

Comrades: I can't really add too much to this other than to make the observation that for me having carbon knuckle protection has really helped when coming off. The other is about kevlar stitching - it might not necessarily be all that wonderful. At least one MotoGP rider has had the top of a finger cut off by a kevlar thread. Time will tell overall as to whether kevlar stitching is a good thing.

My A* SP-2s ripped apart after a crash at around 60-70. Won't ever buy them again, they did not seem very good at all.

MOTOPORT Kevlar Race Gloves. $170 Serious seam rip and abrasion resistance.
Flow more air than anything I've ever had. The whole glove flows, not just vents and perforations. They just don't have the best feel compared to the Kangaroo palmed gloves, I usually run. MOTOPORT is located in San Marcos Ca.
Currently enjoying Arc-on's Competizione gloves from English firm Arc-on that won best buy award and tied on points with the HELD TITAN in RIDE UK summer glove comparison test a couple of years ago.
Serious weapons with quality materials. Cost 140 pounds and 40 pounds to ship from UK. US $260.

After the palms came apart on my last gloves (RS Taichi) during a low speed low side I've been sold on scaphoid sliders. You should have a look at - I'm partial to the ORSA (plenty o' protection without too much bulk - and lots of perferation), but they have a good selection of gauntlet sized gloves too.

+1 on the Knox stuff.
Great quality and superb fitment.

I am using the Orsa gloves for every day riding and the handroid for the track. Can't recommend them enough.
All my buddies changed to knox once they 've tried them on. A bit pricey though, but at least it comes with quality

Good informative info, keep it coming guys.
I must say Im stunned about the negative A* feedback
For those that had an off in A* gloves and they came apart, did you purchase them at an authorized dealer so that you can be sure they were authentic?

Hey,

Is anybody wearing Sedici gloves or other gear?
I have a buddy of mine who just went on a 6000 mile trip around the US and has Sedici jacket, pants, gloves and boots and he is a very happy camper. He mentioned that all Sedici gear carries a lifetime warranty.
I'm skeptical, just like Built or Icon gear. Not sure if it would self destruct on contact with any hard surface.

I wrecked on my 600 with sedici gloves. The palm heel pad tore off, but the second layer held at 45. They bleed if you ride in the rain, but they work in an off.

Im happy to report that I'm loving my Held gloves.
This particular model runs small, as reported by Revzilla, im a size L, measure 9" but these are XL size 10.

These fit better than any of the Dinese, Alpinestar and Icon gloves that I have tried. They flow significant amounts of air, rode 4hrs in 82f weather and didnt feel hot at all.

I hope they end up being durable.

Heroic SP-R Pro for me. Serious gloves, Don't really keep your hands cool but they're pretty comfy once broken in, offer lots of protection and a rather large gauntlet. Haven't crash tested them though... They're in perfect shape, other than a little dirty, after probably 10k miles on the street. The owner of the company is a great guy to deal with too.

After a slow crash in Alpinestars SP whatevers I wont buy from them again. I have a pair of their SMX Plus boots that are falling apart too... No more A* for me. I feel like their marketing sells the products instead of the quality, very much unlike Heroic with very little mainstream marketing but awesome products and even better support. How many kids do you see with A* t-shirts or flat brim hats on that don't know what A* is all about (or maybe what they should be all about?).

Will hopefully be trying Held Air n Dry's though for the summer touring stuff.

Well as of now I can't recommend Alpinestars gloves. After just under 1000 miles the palm slider has tore through the leather palm. In the same spot on BOTH hands. Time to see if Alpinestars stands by their product or tells me to get stuffed.

Shame too, these gloves were very comfortable and fit my hands well.

My sedici gloves just went the way of the dodo. 4 years daily riding, rain or shine, and the leather palm by the base of my fingers just tore. For under 100, gotta say that they held well (2 lows and a slow high) and earned their keep.

Alpinestars got back to me today and they're going to ship me out an a set of SP-1's instead of the SP-2's I had.

I'm pretty stoked on that, even though my original set failed.
