I got a new black 2016 SD-R, and I'm looking for some guidance and opinions. I'm sure there are plenty of those here

Do any of the fender eliminators work without cutting or splicing wires? The Yoshimura looks pretty good but it requires a splice. I don't care to replace the turn signals unless I have to.

Does the SW-MOTECH Quick-Lock EVO tank bag mount make fueling more difficult? I already hate how the cap stays in the way of the fuel filler bellows. Can anyone tell me if the SW-MOTEC City nests down over the filler cap hump? I really like the idea of having no magnets or straps.

What are the best choices for tank protectors? At the moment I am looking at the Stomgrip. I'm not a big fan of the way most of them discolor and generally become an eye sore.

Is the Puig the best wind screen? Revzilla is out of both colors, but I like the shape. I can't tell how cheesy the mount is. It says it's high impact acrylic, but polycarbonate is generally a better material (probably more expensive).

Where are the first most obvious places to look for leaks on the 1290?

If you want to change the fueling just enough to make the bike act and run a bit smoother with no interest in performance gains, what is the best option? All I care about is reduction in lean surge cruising just off idle.

What is the best source for the factory speed parts if you live in North America?

KTM PP tail tidy works without cutting any wires.
But why would you want to ugly up the bike by fitting a Puig screen, might work but look bloody hideous.
Should have got the GT.

If you buy a PCV and have it loaded with Dynojet's stock map, it'll surprisingly smooth it out for you.

If you're looking for Power Parts, this is the best place I've found: http://partstream.arinet.com/Mobile/Q4G ... gdXY0.html. The 20% discount and free shipping is for online orders only.

The best way to use this site is to use the Power Parts catalog to find the part number, then select KTM on this site, select "Search for Part", then enter the number.

I got the evotech tail tidy which *did* require the wires to be spliced. It looks good, though the problem i have with it is the indicator is discoloured (and slightly burnt) from the AR hi slung pipe. Something to watch out for if you go for a similar pipe. That stated, my solution is to switch over to the integrated taillight . I have it, just need time to install it.
