Newer Headlight on older Sduke model?

Hi all,

Currently researching Superdukes as after a test ride on one I've got to own 1! Thought I was becoming clear on the model differences etc and after some searching how older bikes can be upgraded to newer looks.

1 of the things I was interested in was swapping an 06ish model headlight for a 08 onwards (radial fork model) headlight. After searching on here I thought that to do this would also require the later clocks too...

Please correct me if I'm wrong but is this an earlier model (small tank & conventional calipers) with early clocks but a later headlight mask? It looks to be a later mask, with mini flyscreen to my untrained eye...

Anyone shed any light on this?

That bike is a superduke "battle bike" I think there are only 50 in the UK, basically KTM's way of getting rid of excess stock, its an 05-06 bike which came with single seat/akras and a carbon front mask as standard, the mask is ridiculously expensive. The 07> mask is smaller.

To do a later conversion you need the plastics and the later clocks which are one piece and a few bits, there is a thread on here:

PS that battle bike in J&S Doncaster is waaaaaay overpriced even for a dealer.

Worth a read:

Cheers SuperDan - Wasn't aware of the 'Battle Bike' but it makes sense now as looking at the mask it was the right shape but seemed out of proportion for an 07+. And yes way over priced
