I've don a search, to no avail. I'm sure this has been covered before. Bear with me.
2008 990 Super Duke. Standard. 25,000 miles.
A little history: Earlier this spring I had Chad, at Commonwealth do a Rottweiler intake and Dyno tune.
Six weeks ago, I went down fairly hard on some loose gravel that had washed onto the road, after storms.
Surprisingly little damage. But 3 of the turn signals got broken, so I replaced them all.
A little while ago, I changed the front turn signals. Now the guage does not do the sweep when I turn the key on. Kill switch is in the run position. Every 20 seconds, or so, there is a buzz coming from the guages, and the FI light comes on at the same time. The key is removed from the ignition, and it still does it!
What is the cure?

I unhooked the battery for 20 minutes. No luck.
The guages don't light up like they should. But the bike starts up and runs like nothing's wrong. I've unplugged the big connector to the guages. The warning light and buzz have subsided. Sometime this summer, I nearly ran out of gas because the low fuel light stopped working. Maybe the instrument guage is shot?
