For all I know it's always done it but I've recently noticed that when my revs hit around 4000rpm there is a buzz coming from some damn place until about 5000rpm. Like a resonance that sorts itself out once the revs push on a bit further. The engine internals have never been subtle about going about their business but this seems new.

I'm sure its some random piece of plastic or bracket or some such but It is shitting me to tears.

Anyone else experience(d) this? The bikes got 31000k on it.

You got a motobox/cpr airbox or similar, if you have that could be it

I know on Hondas a noise in that rpm range indicates a bad cam chain tensioner. Kinda sounds like chshchshchshchsh. Goes away above and below 4-5k rpm.

If it's not a aftermarket airbox causing it I'd check the magnetic oil plugs. Also you can use always use a screwdriver placed against different parts of the engine and with the handle pressed to the bit of skin at the bottom of the entrance to the ear to hear the internals. If something doesn't sound good it will show up where it is with this.

Sounds like something's loose to me. Hopefully not internal

Can you stick a video up on youtube with someone revving it through the noisy patch so we can try to get a better idea of what it's likely to be? You might find as you move around the bike while you're recording something might become apparent, or at least point you in the right area.

I posted earlier that after the MH instal I get a buzz from the TB area at around 4000rpm.
Its friggin annoying. The bike runs well and it is not a sound from a resonating loose part, its definitely coming from the secondaries servo or the TBs.
I know this is the rpm where the maaps switch over???
Glad Im not the only one.

If its free intake and akras, just remove the baffles. I got rid from my sounds that way. Were some kind of internal resonance somewhere in between of intake and these baffles.
