Bought a slightly used race SDR 990 with 3k miles. Went to change the coolant to water for the track and discovered oil spoogies floating in the coolant. Cleaned it out with mild detergent and lots of flushing and ran for 10 minutes. Oil appeared again. Not a noticeable drop in oil level, but I'm concerned where it's coming from.

For those who had their heads retorqued, was this a symptom or was the leak only on the exterior of the engine?

The front head gasket is now weeping oil and water after a few sessions on the track. Guess that's it...

Retorqued heads due to base, not head, gasket leaks from memory.

Not sure if this is relevant but if you CTRL+F and put this in the search box "While the cams are out, now is a good time to check the head nut torque.". It should take you right to it.
